Expectations ?

I've noticed that we tend to set high expectations out of people. We expect people do the same things we do and feel the same way we feel. However, we are all different and we all have flaws. Sometimes we get so caught up in how we treat people and when they do us wrong we are taken back because we feel like "If I treated them this way why can't they treat me like that ?" It's almost like a reality check that you can't really rely on people to give you the same respect or same love you give. I want people to understand that just because someone treats you a certain way don't let that change who you are. You can't allow people to define your heart. Everyone has this flaw about them that just doesn't match up with ours. I've learned a long time ago that people aren't going to be as caring, generous, loving, and understanding as I am. We all have a different quality about us that stands out and it won't always match up with someone you meet. Whatever you do to try to avoid hurting them doesn't mean they will do the same for you. We have different mindsets and different intentions. You just gotta pray that you meet someone who has the same mindset in mind as you do. Other than that, you have to make sure you realize you can't put so much faith into people because you will get hurt and let down. You have to be so set in stone with yourself that you don't let the behavior of others affect you and how you operate. Also, don't let people take your kindness for weakness either. Just understand that we are all different, and that we all handle life situations different. If we were all the same how would we learn different lessons about ourselves or what separates us from someone else. So always be true to who you are and one day someone will come along who matches your heart and your intentions. You just have to keep the faith and stand firm to what you believe in.
