DISCONNECT AND LIVE YOUR LIFE

We become so consumed in our phones or just social media in general. We tend to forget about the small things in life. We are starting to converse less with one another, and we don't make phone calls in anymore, we text until we can't text anymore. I witnessed at a restaurant a table full of people all into their phones and not even talking to each other. I thought to myself that our phones are our whole life. I've seen people ape crazy if they leave their phone at home just going to the store for a second. I am guilty of that but the more and more I see how it controls people the less and less I want to use it. I've been keeping my phone on silent these past few days, and I didn't even think about using it once. I noticed that I enjoyed the little things and I felt like I wasn't missing anything. I have even been practicing not taking my phone when I'm out to eat with my friends or family. I just think it's best that we respect each others time and enjoy each others company. We live a short life, and I would hate to be remembered as someone who couldn't put their phone down for a minute. We have to reconnect with life and embrace the small things around because we miss out on a lot of stuff due to scrolling, tweeting, texting, snap chatting and more. I am not saying it's bad to use your phone but learn when to put it away and enjoy the moments you have with family and friends. Let's challenge ourselves this week to put our phones away during the times we are spending with our loved ones.
