We tend to let our emotions get the best of us. We say things and don't even think about the consequences of our words and actions. In the midst of our anger or sadness we never think to just pause for a moment and just pray. Prayer isn't the first thought of ours, and it should be. We put a lot of emotional trauma on ourselves because we think we can handle everything on our own. We should know that God is the source of all things. Next time you are in a moment where you feel like you're going to react in such a way that would affect things later down the road. JUST take a moment and walk away. Pray that God gives you the strength to deal with all situations the same way he would. We have to remember just because other people do us wrong it doesn't mean we have to turn around and do the same thing. We have to understand the prayer is like our lifeline to get in touch with God. Pray because it changes things around. Prayer is speaking things into existence. God is the one that we can pass our cares, worries, distress, anger, and amongst many other emotions. I know this may sound like it's easier said than done but, next time you're in a situation where your emotions are getting the best of you just take a walk and literally pause and ask God to help you figure things out and help you be slow to anger and reactions off of emotions. I think we can all use a good pause now and then in our lives.
